Steve Hofstetter Austin Concert reviews
A little pricey, but still a good time
After my first UFC event experience, I was disappointed to find out that the main event, Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard, was canceled due to injuries sustained by both fighters. Instead, Rampage vs. Matt Hamil took the spotlight as the "Main Event."
Despite spending over $250 on tickets, which were considered relatively affordable, I felt let down by the UFC's failure to replace or supplement the missing fight.
The high ticket prices make more sense when you consider the additional entertainment provided by the UFC during fight weekend, such as the Weigh-ins and "Octagon Nation." UFC Fight Club members received special perks like priority seating and exclusive Q&A sessions with the fighters, on top of their separate membership fee.
Attending MMA events in person may not be the best way to enjoy the sport, as the MGM Grand Garden Arena's size often leads to watching the action on overhead screens unless you have ringside seats. This setup mirrors the experience of watching on TV at home.
While I appreciated the overall experience, I may opt for a Belator or another MMA league event next time for a different perspective on live fights.
